Change of major, degree objective, or degree level

Your I-20/DS-2019 must accurately reflect the major and level of study you are pursuing. If you change your major or level of studies (Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate), you will need to work with the admissions office to update your degree level in the student records system. Once you process the appropriate paperwork with the admissions office a copy of the information will be sent to the OIE for your student file. An OIE advisor will contact you to request that you submit a request form for a new I-20 (also available in 110 E. Clayton Street, 4th Floor, Bank of America Building) and new financial documents if you will also need to extend the end date listed on your I-20. An undergraduate student, who is interested in beginning a graduate degree, must apply to the graduate school for the change in degree level.

An OIE advisor will send you an e-mail to pick up your I-20/DS-2019 from the OIE when a notification of the change has been sent to immigration and your academic information has been updated in SEVIS.
